In the peak COVID days of 2020, our beloved college radio station was shutdown. Our DJs, Artist, and writers were itching to find a new ways to share music & art– but this time with an emphasis on our own underground DIY community in San Luis Obispo, free from the limitations of university rules.

SLO'S DIY
SCENE

.WAV has organized events from craft sales, or house shows to selling out clubs downtown. From day one, our brand centered itself on creating content that lifts the community. Post-covid, the community showed their love back to us, and almost all our events reached capacity or sold out.

.WAV collaborates in association with Jeffrey Presents; an events company focused on putting together hard rock and punk concerts throughout the Central Coast. As a passion project between friends, we rented out venues with capacities ranging from 250-300 and marketed largely to the Cal Poly college audience around us. Within six months, we've put together over 25 shows grossing over 25,000 dollars and supporting local and touring bands across California.

DIGITAL STORYTELLING

Since .WAV was a covid baby, our main way to tell our story is through social media. We are active across all social platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, Youtube, & Web. We have received replies from music connoisseur Anthony Fantano and done collaborations with popular social media app "Be Real".
